Course Introduction: Sociology for O Level students (Grades 9-11) consists of 6 chapters in total: Theory & Methods + Culture, Identity & Socialisation + Social Inequality + The Family + Education + Crime, Deviance, and Social Control. There is a choice between chapters while attempting questions so, at our institution in O Levels, we did not focus on the topic of Education. We carried that on later in A Levels. The syllabus for this course follows the Cambridge International Examinations IGCSE Sociology Syllabus.
About the trainer: Saleena Saleem Sheikh
My name is Seleena Saleem. I’m a recent graduate from Lahore
Grammar School, Defence, Phase 1. My subjects in O Levels were Sociology, English
Literature and Biology. I took up Sociology, English Literature and English Language later in
A-Levels. Since O Levels, Sociology has been my favourite subject. I have always scored
exceptional marks in that subject and in my final Sociology CIE for which I appeared in
May/June 2018, I procured an A* My A-Level transcripts for Sociology include all A’s and A*s
and my predicted grade for the subject is A* I recently thought of giving online tuitions to
students in O Levels for Sociology as currently, due to the COVID-19 situation I am
completely free and my CIES have also been cancelled. I felt the need to make productive
use of this time that I have.
In this course, we will cover the topics of Quadratic Expressions and Curves, Polynomials, Remainder and Factor Theorem and Arithmetic Progression and Geometric Progression (AP-GP).
These topics are also part of the AS level Math(Pure Mathematics 1 or P1) syllabus. Since AP-GP is a topic that has been recently added in the O level Add Math syllabus, students fail to
find sufficient practice material for it. In the following videos, we will cover every concept step by step in great detail along with Past Paper Questions. After every concept, there will be a practice worksheet to help you cement that concept
and by the end of the course every student will get a free individual live session of 1 hour to have their queries addressed.
